The NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl
The NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl was sanctioned in March 2015 as the 41st NCAA college football game and the third bowl game staged in Arizona. The 2017 game kicked off on December 29, 2017 and featured New Mexico State defeating Utah State in overtime, 26-20. The NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl had more than 39,132 people in attendance, a 91% increase from its inaugural year in 2015. The game had an estimated $30 million economic impact in the community in 2017. The primary goal of the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl is to award all net proceeds of the game to local charities and as a result of the 2017 game, were able to grant $50,000 to local TUSD and Amphitheatre teachers. FC Tucson was founded in 2010 to bring preseason MLS soccer to Tucson. The organization fielded its first team in 2011, joined the USL's Premier Development League in 2012, and have been playing in the Mountain Division since 2014.
